How to determine if Computer, Windows, SQL, SharePoint, SharePoint Designer is 32 bit or 64 bit version?

November 30, 2011

Computer:

1. right-click on Computer/Properties to find your Processor type
or
2. open a command prompt and type the following command:

 echo %PROCESSOR_ARCHITECTURE%

The result should be either AMD64 or x86 which tells you the processor type.

Windows:

right-click on Computer and select Properties to find your System type

SQL:

Execute the following command in SQL Server Management Studio:

 select serverproperty('edition')

SharePoint:

Check the folder path where SharePoint is deployed. If it is in “Program Files(x86)” then you have a 32bit SharePoint installed. Otherwise you have a 64bit version.

c:\Program Files(x86)
c:\Program Files

Office, SharePoint designer

Open any Office application. From the File menu select Help. In the About Microsoft SharePoint Designer section of the page, you can find the exact Version, such as 14.0.6112.5000 (32 bit)
